Description
Another dramatic view of Canary Springs in the wintertime. It's my favorite area of all of Yellowstone National Park. I first visited the area in the summer of 2007 and fell in love with this section of the park, spending a couple of hours photographing there. Thankfully, I had been clewed in to venturing off the main trail to a lower terrace where the dramatic photographs abound. This particular photograph was taken when I returned to Yellowstone in the winter and this scene is one of my finest. There's so much beauty in the white cliffs and rocks peaking out from the snow in the first rays of sunlight. Yet there's also something foreboding about the scene...with the black fog and yellowish tint rolling up from the valley below. Intriguing, dramatic, fascinating.....
