Description
The wonderful Chapel of the Transfiguration --located just inside the entrance of the Grand Teton National Park in the small village of Moose, Wyoming-- is a beautifully situated Episcopal Church built in 1925. Residents and guests of the dude ranches in the area were tired of the bumpy rides on buckboard wagons that had to make every Sunday into Jackson for their religious services. And when the Menor Ferry broke down on Sunday...that was the last straw;and thus the chapel was built on land donated by Maud Noble, owner of the nearby Menor's Ferry. The Chapel played a primary role in the movie,"Spencer's Mountain starring Henry Fonda and Maureen O'Hara. Today, it is one of the most popular chapels in the country to perform weddings.
