Anvil-like, flat topped clouds build far out over the Gulf of Mexico threatening possible thunderstorms for later in the evening. But for now, at the sunset hour, they become features of beauty, highlighted in brilliant yellow and gold and pink. The colors are reflected in the calm waters of the gulf and turn the Marco Island beach into a shade of pink. Rays from the sinking sun (which is just the the right of this scene) highlight the beach house at the end of a boardwalk coming from the nearby Hilton Hotel.
