The Azalea Hole at Augusta National, the most beautiful hole in all of golf -- at least in my humble opinion. Watching the 2022 Masters tournament this week-end has forced me to go back in my photo files and dig up some of the shots I took when I visited Augusta National back in 2015. It's the final hole of what is known as Amen Corner, holes 11, 12 and 13 -- for "amen" is the word they often utter when finishing those three trying holes --filled with danger. Many a Masters tournament was won or lost on one of more of those holes. The Azalea is named after the beautiful flowering bushes that line the back of the four sand traps on the backside of the green. In the front is the famed Rae's creek that has gobbled up a few golf balls in its time. A lone caddy stands on the green during this practice round.
