Sandstone, carved by wind and water over thousands of years takes on powerful images, in Lower Antelope Canyon on Navajo Nation in north Arizona near Page and Lake Powell. To my eyes, I see a giant figure stretching his arms upward into the fluffy cloud filled blue sky in exaltation to his God above. The canyon lies about 120 feet below ground and you enter through a small slot in the earth. If you didn't know it was there you would never see the entrance. You can't visit the canyon on your own, tours have to be booked through the Navajo Nation but it is a trip you will never forget.
