Description
The photograph everyone who comes to Canyonlands National Park wants to take...that iconic shot when the arch is turned a bright reddish-orange as the sun rises in the east. It's still beautiful at any time of the day, but at sunrise it can be spectacular. Even the rock formations in the background are well known...the "Washerwoman", to the right of her, "Monster Tower" and framing her in back, "Airport Tower". Before 2010 relatively few people were aware of the beauty of this particular area, but then Microsoft made it a default background for its computer program, starting a stampede of photographers, tourists and others coming to the site.
